[Music] hi Im dr. Christopher Ramsay and today were using three ms piece product imprint for to load into a full tray so we can get a full arch impression with any light body we typically want to bleed the cartridge thats always a safe bet to make sure that the base and catalyst are bled out and so were gonna get rid of that then well go ahead and load our tip and we are ready to roll here I like to bleed a little bit out the tip here before I go into the patients mouth so weve loaded the heavy body in the machine and now were just going to go ahead and load the tips onto the pen to mix as soon as we turn it on we like to bleed the initial tip here just to make sure the base and catalyst have mixed adequately and as you can see were ready to roll were going to be using two products were gonna be using the heavy body out of the pen MX machine and the light body this is a full arch impression so our preference today is to use a regular set not a quick set the advantage to both

Altered cast impression technique is used in dental practice for recording distal extension bases. It precisely records the edentulous area distal to the last tooth in order to distribute the forces applied on the teeth and soft tissue.
There are three basic categories or types of impressions that may be deposited, detected, developed if need be and recovered at a crime scene. Latent. The skin has deposits of oil and perspiration that normally coat the surface. Patent. Plastic or Molded.
Elastomeric impression material have an elastic or rubberlike quality after setting.Final impressions material are supplied in three forms or viscosity. Light body-is the easiest-flowing material to flow. Regular body-is slightly thicker than the light body form. Heavy body is the thickest of the three forms.
Impression Techniques Technique 1 used indirect (closed tray) (Fig. 3) impression technique with closed tray transfer copings. Technique 2 used direct (open tray) impression technique with nonsplinted copings. Technique 3 used direct (open tray) impression technique with splinted copings.
Four types of elastomeric impression materials are available in the market: addition silicone, also known as polyvinyl siloxanes (PVS), condensation silicone, polyether, and polysulfide.
The pick-up technique is also referred to as the open tray technique. In this technique, the transfers remain encased in the impression material after the impression has been removed from the patients mouth.
Types of Impression Material Light body-is the easiest-flowing material to flow. Regular body-is slightly thicker than the light body form. Heavy body is the thickest of the three forms.
Also known as the corrected-cast technique (3) the technique requires an additional step for both the dentist and the dental technician. It offers several advantages which include maximum stability, minimal stress on abutment teeth, and more predictable occlusion (3).
The altered cast technique allows the ridge, recorded in functional form, to be related to the teeth so that when the prosthesis is seated, it derives support simultaneously from the teeth and the denture base.
Cast metal partial dentures are the most-used option when it comes to partials because theyre strong and theyre built to last many years. While some patients are concerned about the idea of a metal partial, the good news is that the rigid metal frame is covered by plastic that matches the color of your gums.
