Select the cell that contains the formula you want to move. Click Home Cut (or press Ctrl + X). Select the cell you want the formula to be in, and then click Paste (or press Ctrl + V). Verify that the cell references are still what you want.
Heres how you copy and paste a formula: Select the cell with the formula you want to copy. Press. + C. Click the cell where you want to paste the formula. To quickly paste the formula with its formatting, press. Clicking the arrow gives you a list of options.
You can use the AND, OR, NOT, and IF functions to create conditional formulas. For example, the IF function uses the following arguments. logicaltest: The condition that you want to check. valueiftrue: The value to return if the condition is True.
If you want to maintain the original cell reference when you copy it, you lock it by putting a dollar sign ($) before the cell and column references. For example, when you copy the formula =$A$2+$B$2 from C2 to D2, the formula stays exactly the same. This is an absolute reference.
Simply do the following: Select the cell with the formula and the adjacent cells you want to fill. Click Home Fill, and choose either Down, Right, Up, or Left. Keyboard shortcut: You can also press Ctrl+D to fill the formula down in a column, or Ctrl+R to fill the formula to the right in a row.
=A1+A2 adds the values in cells A1 and A2. =A1-A2 subtracts the value in A2 from A1. =A1*A2 multiplies the values in A1 and A2.
Select the formula in the cell using the mouse, and press Ctrl + C to copy it. Select the destination cell, and press Ctl+V. This will paste the formula exactly, without changing the cell references, because the formula was copied as text.
Unlike relative references, absolute references do not change when copied or filled. You can use an absolute reference to keep a row and/or column constant.
