Fill Settings Color Adaptation adjusts the brightness and contrast of the filled area to better match its surroundings. This can be very useful when removing objects in areas with gradual color or brightness transitions. Rotation Adaptation allows Photoshop to rotate the content to better match the angle and direction.
Press Ctrl+T on Windows or Command+T on Mac to instantly access the Free Transform tool and bring up the sizing handles so you can adjust the size of your layer.
Click the Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer button in the Layers panel, and choose the fill type you want to create. (The first three options listed in the panel are fill layers, the others are adjustment layers.) Choose Layer New Fill Layer [fill type]. In the New Layer dialog box, click OK.
Hover the mouse pointer over an object or region in your image you would like to select. Selectable objects and regions will be highlighted with an overlay color. To customize the hover overlay, select the gear icon in the Options bar and modify desired settings.
Using Select And Mask and Select Subject In the Layers panel, make sure both layers are visible and the Model layer is selected. Choose Select Select And Mask. Click the View menu in the View Mode section of the Properties panel, and choose Overlay. In the Options bar, click the Select Subject button.
Select a selection tool, and do one of the following: Hold down Shift (a plus sign appears next to the pointer) to add to the selection, or hold down Alt (Option in Mac OS) to subtract (a minus sign appears next to the pointer) from a selection. Then select the area to add or subtract and make another selection.
You just choose this tool (its the second tool from the top in the Toolbox, or press M) and select an area to work on by clicking-and-dragging a rectangle out over that area. Now, only that selected area will be affected by whatever you do to it (as seen here, where I drew a rectangular selection between the columns.
