When you use the \captionsetup command in your document, all subsequent captions will use the options you specify. Alternatively, you can put the \captionsetup within a figure, table, subfigure or subtable environment and it will apply only within that environment.
Its really easy, just add the \caption{Some caption} and inside the braces write the text to be shown. The placement of the caption depends on where you place the command; if its above the \includegraphics then the caption will be on top of it, if its below then the caption will also be set below the figure.
Select the object (table, equation, figure, or another object) that you want to add a caption to. On the References tab, in the Captions group, click Insert Caption. In the Label list, select the label that best describes the object, such as a figure or equation.
A table caption is the text that is written under or next to your table. This text describes what is seen in the table.
You can use \captionsetup{justification=centering} in the specific table or figure environment (after \usepackage{caption} .
Positioning Graphics You can also place the letters in order of your preference and you can add an exclamation mark to make it try hard: \begin{figure}[h! tbp]. With this example, LaTeX will try REALLY hard to place it at that exact point in the text. If that does not work, it will place it at the top of the next page.
Captions (called subtitles in some areas) provide content to people who are Deaf and hard-of-hearing. Captions are a text version of the speech and non-speech audio information needed to understand the content. They are synchronized with the audio and usually shown in a media player when users turn them on.
