No, they are essentially the same file type; the only difference is that one acronym (TIF) is short for the other acronym (TIFF). So regardless of which acronym you use, both refer to the same image format. The two acronyms are used interchangeably, so theres no need to worry about which one youre using.
TIFF, (Tagged Image File Format), is a file format commonly used for storing high-quality images, such as photographs, illustrations, and scanned documents. TIFF files are capable of preserving image quality without loss of information or degradation.
TIFF is best for any raster images that you intend to edit and is relied on to preserve quality.
As a tagged image file, most computers can open and handle TIFFs, but youll need editing software like docHub Photoshop to make any edits to the original image.
Word has useful image-editing tools you can view by right-clicking your TIF and selecting Format Picture to open the Format Picture window. This window contains multiple buttons you can click to change the images appearance.
tiff. A TIFF is an image file so it stores photographic and graphical data. You wont be able to edit the original file information without editing software, like docHub Photoshop or Illustrator.
Tif is a bitmapped format, so you would need to open in photoshop and retouch, for small changes. For major changes, you would recreate the graphs in Illustrator from scratch using the . tif image as a reference.
Convert TIFF to text with OCR software: Click inside the file drop area to upload TIFF file or drag drop TIFF file. Click the Scan Scan Image to start the OCR process. Recognition results will be displayed and can be copied.
