Title Transfer The original title assigned from the seller to the buyer. An Application for Texas Title (130-U) completed by buyer(s), buyer(s) signature must be original. Government issued photo ID for buyer. Proof of Texas liability insurance. Supporting documents for example:
Form 130-U (Application for Texas Title and/or Registration), signed and dated by the seller(s) and buyer(s). If seller is unable to sign the Form 130-U, a Bill of Sale from the out of state seller can be provided instead. The Form 130-U can be found under the Forms tab on the TxDMV website.
Fees one can expect to pay when purchasing a vehicle in Texas are as follows: Sales Tax: 6.25% of the total vehicle purchase price. Title Transfer Fee: $28 to $33 (varies by county) Tag/License Fee: $50.75 base fee, $10 local fee.
To transfer a title, you will need: Either the California Certificate of Title or an Application for Replacement or Transfer of Title (REG 227) (if the title is missing). The signature(s) of seller(s) and lienholder (if any). The signature(s) of buyer(s). A transfer fee.
You must submit the docHubd lien release (copy or original), your current title (if in your possession) and pay an $8.50 title fee and a $6 processing fee. The new title (in your name, without the lien) should issue within 3-5 business days, and will then be mailed to you (at the address provided on the application).
