In the 4-out 1-in offense, 4 players are positioned outside of the three-point line and one player is in the low or high post area. The 4 players on the outside are typically positioned in the slots and wings, but you can also have players in the corners as well as flexibility with the inside player.
3 Out 2 In Pick and Roll Offense The point guard will hit the shooting guard on the right wing and then follow the ball, cutting through to the strong corner. The center will next come up to set an inside ball screen for the two-guard, rolling to the baseline as the shooting guard penetrates into the paint.
The easiest way to begin teaching your team the 5-out offense is to start with the basic movements of passing and cutting in a 5-0 situation. Start by setting out 5 cones at the 5 fill spots on the court. Let your team know that when theyre not cutting, they must be in one of these 5 positions.
The hallmarks of the offense are the spread offense and spacing, constant motion, the back-door cut and lay-up, hitting open 3-point shots, flare screens and screens away from the ball. The basic set can be 4-out with 1-in (either at the high post, or low post), a 2-3 high set, or a 1-2-2 (5-out) set.
This is an example of high low action for the 3 out 2 in motion offense. To start, 1 dribbles toward the left side wing to execute a dribble handoff with 3. Following that, 3 dribbles to the top and then 2 receives the ball from 3. Afterwards, 3 cuts to the basket via a UCLA screen set by 4.
