Neatly list all leadership experience you have had at school or in the community in the last two years. Include positions in which you were responsible for directing or motivating others. (Ex: elected position of the SGA, club officer, scouting, youth group, team captain, etc.)
Per national guidelines, at a minimum, students must have a cumulative GPA of 85, B, 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent standard of excellence. (Each school chapter is allowed to require a higher cumulative GPA.)
The primary requirement for the NJHS is a minimum GPA of 3.5. Grades earned during the 1st and 2nd quarter of 8th grade are calculated. Grades earned during 7th grade are not included.
As an NJHS member, youll have exclusive access to robust tools and resources: College admission and financial aid planning options, including webinars and a mini-website called Honor Your Future Now, which you can browse by yourself or with your family for college preparation tips.
You will be automatically granted membership, but will need to meet the eligibility requirements of your new school within a reasonable period of time, usually one semester. Your new school may have a higher cumulative GPA required for membership, for example.

No. NJHS and NHS are separate programs with different requirements for membership. NHS members are selected through the NHS chapter at their school. The NJHS membership does not automatically convert to NHS membership.
A member who is dismissed or resigns may never again be considered for membership in the National Junior Honor Society.
