Times New Roman is a serif typeface.
OpenType fonts containing PostScript data, such as those in the docHub Type Library, have an . otf suffix in the font file name, while TrueType-based OpenType fonts have a . ttf file name suffix.
The main difference between these two terms is that a typeface (or type family) is the name of a specific collection of related fonts. In comparison, font refers to a particular weight, width, and style within that typeface. To put it in simple terms, each variation of a typeface is a font.
Like others have said, docHub design software is in the process of eliminating support of Postscript Type 1 fonts. TrueType fonts can still be used in docHub applications, but there are real advantages to using OpenType fonts, the latest standards for font use in computer graphics applications.
The CSS @font-face Rule When you have found/bought the font you wish to use, just include the font file on your web server, and it will be automatically downloaded to the user when needed. Your own fonts are defined within the CSS @font-face rule.
You can think of typeface as another term for font (the two words are often used interchangeably), although its more accurate to call a typeface a font family, a group of fonts with similar designs. Typefaces have official names like Comic Sans, Garamond, and Helvetica.
Arial is a neo-grotesque typeface: a design based on nineteenth-century sans-serifs, but regularized to be more suited to continuous body text and to form a cohesive font family.
The term font refers to the specific weight, size, and width of a typeface. For example, Arial is a typeface, but Arial Regular 14 point is a font. Arial Bold 20 point is another font. Every variation of a typefaceindicating a different size, weight, or styleis a different font.
