To validate a field with a Regex pattern, click the Must match pattern check box. Next, add the expression you want to validate against. Then add the message your users will see if the validation fails.
Restricting the users to enter only 10 digits where the first digit should of numbers 6,7,8,9 and rest all digits can be of any number from 0-9 is done purely by regular expressions [^6-9][,0-9] which help in validating the forms whether the information entered is relevant to the pattern specified.
The first step is to look at the number of rows. That will form the outer loop. The next step is to find a common pattern for how numbers/stars/characters are arranged in each row. That should form the inner loop.
Pattern validation is achieved using regular expressions, which is a string of characters and symbols that defines a search pattern. For example, lets say you have an input element where you want users to enter a username. Your rule for usernames is that they must be made up of alphanumeric characters and underscores.
It apparently drove one Stack Overflow user to the brink of madness: You cant parse [X]HTML with regex. Because HTML cant be parsed by regex. Regex is not a tool that can be used to correctly parse HTML.
