A margin is the empty space between a documents contents and the edges of the page. Docs default margins are 1 inch on each side of the page, but you can change the margins to accommodate the needs of your document.
Set the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right Margins Select File Page setup. Under Margins, set the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right margins to whatever you want. Select OK when youre done.
In Word, each page automatically has a one-inch margin. You can customize or choose predefined margin settings, set margins for facing pages, allow extra margin space to allow for document binding, and change how margins are measured.

Margins are the amount of white space left at each border of a page. Microsoft Word offers a couple of default margins that we can work with, or we can set our custom margins ing to the purpose of our document.
