The Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) specification defines a set of document types for authoring and organizing topic-oriented information, as well as a set of mechanisms for combining, extending, and constraining document types.
Editing An Element's Text To edit text on your page, double click on the text in the page preview. A toolbar for basic text formatting will appear at the top of the screen. When you are done editing, click anywhere outside of the text, or click the Done button in the top bar.
The Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is an XML-based architecture for authoring, producing, and delivering technical information. It divides content into small, self-contained topics that you can reuse in various deliverables.
DITA topics are the basic units of DITA content and the basic units of reuse. Each topic contains a single subject. Topics might be of specific specialized information types, such as task, concept, or reference, or they might be generic, that is, without a specified information type.
DITA uses maps to determine which topics are part of any output that you create. While customized DITA solutions can use other mechanisms, generally DITA is not used as a way to publish individual topics. Output is created from a map and includes all the topics referenced by the map.
The element provides a top-level container for multiple topics when you create documents using the ditabase document type. The element lets you create any sequence of concept, task, and reference topics, and the ditabase document type lets you further nest these topic types inside each other.
DITA stands for "Darwin Information Typing Architecture" or "Document Information Typing Architecture." DITA is an XML data model for component-based authoring and publishing. It is an open standard that is maintained by the OASIS DITA Technical Committee. DITA is commonly used among technical documentation teams.
DITA is an XML-based open standard for structuring, developing, managing, and publishing content. IBM originally developed DITA to more efficiently reuse content in product documentation.
XML doesn't require "lines", it's a nested storage structure and any additional newlines and whitespace will be ignored, and they just take up additional storage space.
You can use for line feed (LF) or for carriage return (CR), and an XML parser will replace it with the respective character when handing off the parsed text to an application.
