here i will demonstrate how to clean your block tools and ink slab after printing like with all printmaking there are different ways to do this but this is my preferred method first print off leftover ink from your block onto scrap paper this could be phone book paper it could be packing paper or paper bag paper an old print off from the computer anything really as long as itamp;#39;s smooth enough to receive ink usually i would just leave it there itamp;#39;s nearly impossible to get all the ink off and thatamp;#39;s okay the oil in the ink residue conditions the block and keeps it supple if however you plan to continue carving on your block you may want to remove more than the off printing allows or you will end up with inky hands if this is the case take a tiny amount of baby oil on a paper towel vegetable oil works too and briskly buff it over the surface of your plate do not pour oil directly onto the block oil does not evaporate and is extremely difficult to get out of small c

How do you remove ink after it has dried? Put down a towel you dont mind getting stained, and place the stained garment on top of it. Treat the stain with rubbing alcohol or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or hair spray and let sit for at least 10 minutes before blotting and rinsing with cold water.
Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol is commonly used to remove ink stains. So you can apply it to any paper youre trying to erase the ink from. If you only have a small amount of ink to erase, use a cotton swab. If you want to erase most of the ink from a page, soak the paper in a small washing tray for 5 minutes.
Easy Wipe Compound is essentially a tack reducer which does not affect the color or light fastness of an ink. Unlike Burnt Plate Oil, Easy Wipe will not materially affect the body of the ink, but allows for great ease in wiping the plate with even the stiffest of inks.
Whether youre concerned with how to remove ink from clothes like jeans, shirts, or other cottons, youll just need a good solvent, like rubbing alcohol, hairspray, or hand sanitizer, as well as your trusted Tide detergent for pretreating and washing.
Alcohol pads are great for quickly and easily wiping excess ink from your skin. Theyre also relatively inexpensive, which makes them a great option for those on a budget.
First, I officially recommend that you use distilled water to reconstitute dry or sludgy inks. (Unofficially, I just use the tap water here in Boulder, CO, because I havent ever had a problem doing so.) The amount of water you add to the ink depends on the state of the ink and how much of it remains.

And now it is an ink again its still a little chunky on the inside. And you know mixed it up with the Chopstick.
Acetone is a very aggressive solvent that needs extensively careful handling. It effectively dissolves the solidified ink in the nozzles.
