welcome back to the bookends YouTube channel Im James McGowan and today we are back in query land yeah we are discussing the query blurb we always say or you always say actually back cover copy always and for those who dont know what the query blurb is so every query letter has a description of the book and that is called the blurb and like James says its back cover copy it is not a synopsis the synopsis is a different beast all together the synopsis is about two pages longer and a great work and the synopsis tells you sort of key details of the story as well as the ending yes it gives it all yes and a query blurb does not tell the ending ever so yeah so your line that I always keep in my head when Im writing pitch letters for publishers is you dont have to give everything about the book you just have to get the reader to want to read the book that is the sole purpose and goal of your query blurb or cover copy so I mean yeah you dont want to bore them right and I mean Im not gonn
