Apply style to text For new text, write and commit the text you want to apply a style to. Then, select from the available presets in the Tool Options bar. For existing text, select a layer that contains text. Open the Effects panel, and double-click the thumbnail of a style you want to apply to the text.
You can also press the T key on your keyboard to access the Type tool at any time. In the Control panel near the top of the screen, choose the desired font and text size. Click the Text Color picker, then choose the desired color from the dialog box. Click and drag anywhere in the document window to create a text box.
In PhotoShop, variable fonts are marked with the VAR symbol. In the Properties panel we can change their weight (thickness). For other fonts, you may also be able to change the other options.
