And usually itamp;#39;s an idea thatamp;#39;s repeated, developed, expanded, contracted, so itamp;#39;s a kind of compositional device. A lot of Baroque music is built out of little motifs. So, itamp;#39;s a particular feature there. But essentially, itamp;#39;s an idea that can be used in any style.
