How Do Lenders Verify Bank Statements? For many loans, lenders must verify a large volume of bank statements, sometimes up to 24 months worth of statements. Some lenders call the banks to verify account names, numbers, and deposit amounts.
Lenders request bank statements to determine your eligibility for a loan or to satisfy the requirements of government-backed mortgages. Do lenders verify bank statements? Yes. Lenders use bank statements as evidence of specific financial information.
Make sure your letter of explanation includes: The current date (the day you write the letter) The name of your lender. Your lenders complete mailing address and phone number. A subject line that begins with RE: and includes your name, application number or other identifying information.
One method to detect bank statements is to reconcile the totals. That is to total up all the deposits, withdrawals, checks, and fees and see if the totals match the balances printed on the statement. Every bank prints some kind of totals, whether its starting/ending balances, a running balance, or both.
Loan officers use these bank statements to: Verify your savings and cash flow. Check for unusual deposits, withdrawals, or other activity in your accounts. Make sure you havent taken on any recent debts.
Verification of Deposit. Verification of Deposit for Mortgage Companies.
If you need to use email to send documents, please docHub out to your Loan Officer. They can send you a secure email link that will protect you and your personal documents. Of course, the safest way to provide your lender with financial documents is to hand deliver them to your loan officer in person.
Lenders dont typically host the bank verification portal. They will simply receive a copy of your bank statement once you validate your credentials with your bank.
