You can open and convert Rich Text files (RTF) in almost any text editor or word processor, including Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
RTF files are simple to use and easy to edit. On Windows, save a document as an RTF file by navigating to File Save as and then select RTF. Once youve opened your RTF file on Microsoft Word, select the text you would like to edit. Start typing in this space to replace the current text with the new text.
Creating an RTF template file consists of two basic steps: Design your template layout. Use the formatting features of your word processing application and save the file as RTF. Mark up your template layout. Insert the BI Publisher simplified tags.
You can open RTF files in almost any text editor or word processor. Use default programs like WordPad or TextEdit to open rich-text files by double-clicking on them. Alternatively, upload RTFs to Google Drive to open them from anywhere including a computer or your phone.
Try editing rtf files using Microsoft Office Mobile or Microsoft Word app for Android. Both are available on Google Play. Editing rtf files is also possible using Google Docs.
Locate the RTF file on your Mac. Right-click (or Control-click) on the file. Choose Open With and select TextEdit from the options. The RTF file will open in TextEdit, the default text editor on macOS.
On the Save As window, write the name you want for the document on the text field provided. Save in Rich Text Format. To do so, click on the File Type drop-down menu, scroll down the list, and select Rich Text Format (RTF). Click on the Save button, and the document will be saved in Rich Text Format.
To modify an RTF template: If you are editing an existing layout: Select your report in the business intelligence catalog and click Edit. Open the downloaded RTF template file in Microsoft Word. Load the sample data that you generated. Edit or create the layout template. Save the file as Rich Text Format (RTF).
