Solution: Enter OPTIONS in the AutoCAD command line. Select the Display tab in the Options dialog box. Under Layout Elements, select the Display Layout and Model Tabs check box. Click OK. The MODEL/PAPER toggle button will be displayed on the Status bar.
Using the Properties palette . . . Select the layout viewport that you want to modify. Right-click, and then choose Properties. If necessary, click Display Locked and choose No. In the Properties palette, select Standard Scale, and then select a new scale from the list. The scale you choose is applied to the viewport.
You can identify this mode by the paper space icon displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen and by the PAPER label displayed in the Status Bar, as shown in the figure below. In paper space, you can add or edit the border and title block, add notes, and create or manipulate the viewports that display the model.
When youre in paper space, you can double-click within a layout viewport to access model space. If you are in model space and want to switch to another layout viewport, double-click within another layout viewport, or press Ctrl+R to cycle through the existing layout viewports.
Whats the easiest way to know if you are in paper space /layout mode? Look for the triangular icon. Close the drawing. Zoom Out.
Click Modeling tab Modify panel Change Space. Select one or more objects to move. Press Enter to end the command.
Switch with double-click Double-click inside the viewport to activate the Model Space. Double-click outside the viewport to activate the Paper Space.
