Bates Numbering is a method of indexing legal documents by assigning a unique sequential identification numbering to each page, file or image to make the task of organizing, retrieval and identifying important documents a lot easier.

Click the area of highlighted text you wish to remove. This will create a blue outline around the text. A small toolbox will appear with three icons. Choose the third icon the trash symbol to remove the highlighted text.
Redaction removal from the original PDF file. Click on the Edit tab at the top of the screen. Select Redact Text Images. From there, youll be able to add new redactions or remove the existing ones. Once you remove the redactions, the colored bars will go away, revealing the information underneath.
Open the PDF file containing Bates Numbers. Choose Tools Edit PDF. In the secondary toolbar, choose More Bates Numbering Remove.
There are two commands you can use to remove hidden information: Sanitize Document and Remove Hidden Information. To remove all hidden information from a PDF file in one go, choose Protect Hidden Data Sanitize Document.
To remove Bates numbers from a PDF file: On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Marks group, click the arrow next to Bates Number and click Remove Bates Numbering. Click OK at the confirmation prompt, and the tool will scan the document and remove all instances of Bates numbering.
