Re: Remove arrow after bullet points The arrow represents a tab character when nonprinting marks are shown in Word. To hide all nonprinting marks, including tab characters, click File Options Display and clear all check boxes under Always show these formatting marks on the screen.

Show or hide tab marks in Word Go to File Options Display. Under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the check box for each formatting mark that you always want to display regardless if the Show/Hide. button is turned on or off. Clear any check boxes for ones you dont want always displayed.
As you have correctly diagnosed, the little arrows (or triangles) are shown next to headings. For each heading, the arrow indicates that you can collapse or expand the subordinate text paragraphs beneath the heading.
You can hide the little arrows by going to the Home tab and clicking on the paragraph mark button. If the little arrows are still visible, go to the File tab, click on Options, and then select Display. In the Display options, uncheck the box next to Show all formatting marks and click OK.
Final answer: To disable expand/collapse in Word, you need to switch off the Track Changes feature from the Review tab and use the Reviewing Pane to view changes without expansion.
