Hey guys, welcome to race result Tech Check our new series giving you some quick tips on how to make the best of your race result solution. Today we want to talk about the best way to test your mats on race day. In fact not just the best way, the only correct way to do so. Its always a good idea on race day to actually make sure things are working as you expect. This is normally done by just grabbing a transponder and if youre anything like me, probably just a spare bib from registration because you dont think about it until its too late. And then just waving this across the mats and hoping everything reads. But, quick newsflash, its not exactly professional and its kind of unreliable at best. We always recommend doing this with the race result test transponder. In fact we just launched this new version which not only looks better but offers more reliable testing by using the race result passive transponder inside. But, why cant I just use any transponder or UHF power mapper

Tack alone will give you that instant bond, but wont keep your tape where you need it for long. If you want a longer and tougher bonding, you need adhesion. With a strong bond, it will require more pressure to remove the tape, which makes high adhesion tapes unsuitable for delicate surface applications.
Definition of ADHESIVE HIGH TACK: This type of adhesive is designed to create a strong immediate bond between a label and a substrate that continues to strengthen into a strong permanent bond that will not allow the label to be removed.
Tack and green strength are two important properties of many elastomer compounds. Tack is the ability of two materials to resist separation after bringing their surfaces into contact for a short time under a light pressure.
What is tack? Tack is the property of an adhesive that enables it to form a bond of measurable strength (bond strength) immediately after the adhesive and the substrate are brought into contact under low pressure.
The Loop Tack test is used to measure the tack force / strength of a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) ing to ASTM D6195. Pressure sensitive adhesives are typically applied to films, labels, tapes, and stickers where the initial tack force is an important characteristic of the product.
