With your presentation open, go to the ribbon, and select Slide Show, then the Record Slide Show drop-down menu. Now select where youd like to record from From Beginning or From Current Slide. Ill select From Beginning. Before you record, make sure you have the correct microphone input selected under Settings, so you dont have to re-do your recordings. If I click it, I can see I have the correct microphone input selected, so Im ready to record. To begin recording, select Record, then start speaking. The Record Slide Show feature is similar to the Rehearse Timings feature, but its a bit more comprehensive. If you have a microphone for your computer, you can record voiceover narration for the entire presentation. This is useful if you plan to use your slide show as a self-running presentation or video.

Try it! Open the slide you want to start recording from. Near the upper right corner of the PowerPoint window, select Record. Choose from two options. When youre ready, select the round, red Record button, wait for the countdown, then start speaking. To record from a specific slide, go to it, and then select Record.
To insert a screen recording into a PowerPoint slide, click the Insert tab in the Ribbon. Then click the Screen Recording button in the Media button group. A popup box then appears at the top of the screen. To select the screen area to record, click the Select Area button in the popup box.
