The X or Cross Mark ✗ symbol is used for bullet or check lists and other indicators. Its the opposite of the tick or Checkmark.
To start a presentation in Presenter View even if you have only a single display, press Alt+F5.
Right-click the slide, and then select Hide Slide. The slide now shows a slash through the slide number to indicate that its hidden.
Click your insertion point within the text box, text placeholder, shape, or any other slide object where you want to add a cross mark, as shown in Figure 1, below. Now, hold the Alt key while you type 0251 on the number pad of your keyboard to insert an (u circumflex) character (see Figure 2, below).
To do this, insert a shape in the first slide (or anywhere really), select the shape, go to Insert | Action | Run Macro | ShuffleSlides. Now, if you click that shape in Slide Show Mode, your PowerPoint Slides will be randomly shuffled!
The slide now shows a slash through the slide number to indicate that its hidden.
Go to Insert Symbol More Symbols. Go to Special Characters. Double-click the character that you want to insert. Select Close.
Press Ctrl + T or Ctrl + Shift + F. The Font dialog box appears. Press Alt + K to select Strikethrough (press Alt + underlined character). Press Enter.
Search the Symbols Menu Go to the Insert tab, click on Symbol on the far right, click More Symbols, and change the font to Wingdings in the box that pops up. Then, scroll down to the bottom and choose the tick or cross symbol that you prefer. Finally, hit Insert.
The slide number is crossed out, indicating that it is hidden. To unhide a slide, select it and then click Hide Slide again.
