this is Chris Terrell Thurmond a BBA in this video were going to be looking at adding text to shapes and/or comments now this can actually get more quite a bit quite a bit more complicated than you think it would be and thats just basically because it doesnt fit within the nice grid that youre used to when you start programming in VBA shapes are kind of all over the place like a comment can be in a Cell but a comment can also be a shape and so Im just going to go over the easiest way to kind of add text to a shape and it really is also a great example of how to record a macro so first thing were gonna do is were gonna record a macro theres a couple ways to do this my favorite is to click on this little guy down here thatll get you started that thats how you can record a macro the other ways you can do that is if you go to your developer tab click record there I and those are kind of the two primary ways to do that were going to name our macro and now your macro can of a spa

To use your favorite font in Word all the time, set it as the default. Go to Format Font Font. You can also press and hold. + D to open the Font dialog box. Select the font and size you want to use. Select Default, and then select Yes. Select OK.

Add a comment to a shape Select the shape to add a comment. Right-click and then select Insert Comment. In the comment box, enter a comment. The comment box appears below the shape, as shown in the following image. Press Tab to see the result. The comment symbol appears inside the shape, as shown in the following image.
Format worksheet comments Select the text you want to reformat, right-click it, and then choose Format Comment. Choose the font options you want and click OK. In this example, weve changed the font style, size and color of the comment.
However, you can change the default font and font size for all new workbooks that you create. On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Under Authoring, click General. In the Default font and Font size boxes, select a new font and font size. Click OK. Close and restart Excel.
In the Format Comments dialog box, click Format tab, and choose the scope that you want to change the comment format, you can choose Active sheet or All sheets. Then click Specify the comment cell button to select the cell which contains the specific comment format you want to apply.
