In large numbers, commas are used to help the reader. A comma is placed every third digit to the left of the decimal point and so is used in numbers with four or more digits. Continue to place a comma after every third digit.
Rules for Using Commas For a large number, the first comma has to be placed after hundreds place (that means three digits from the right of the given number). This comma marks thousands. The second comma will come after the next two digits (that means five digits from the right of the given number).
The commaformat() method can be used to format number with commas separating thousands. Parameter : big. mark indicator of the mark between every big.
Use a comma (not a point or space) to set off thousands/millions in whole numbers: for example, 6,800, 25,612, 25,612,800. Use billion to mean a thousand million (1,000,000,000), and trillion to mean a thousand billion (1,000,000,000,000).
In the American system, you insert a comma after a fourth digit has been added to the the first three digits, and to the next three digits, ad infinitum, in this manner: one hundred = 100; one thousand = 1,000; one hundred thousand = 100,000; one million = 1,000,000,000; one billion = 1,000,000,000,000, and so on.
For a large number, the first comma has to be placed after hundreds place (that means three digits from the right of the given number). This comma marks thousands. The second comma will come after the next two digits (that means five digits from the right of the given number).
In most English-speaking countries, people use commas as thousand separators. In other countries, people may use periods instead: Countries that use commas to separate groups of thousands (e.g., 50,000) use periods for decimals (e.g., 3.1416).
In numbers more than four digits long, commas separate the digits into groups of three: 3,000 or 300,000 or 3,000,000. 10. Use a comma to prevent confusion.
