hi my name is Bree Clark and Im a software expert today Im going to show you how to change the background color in Excel now Excel doesnt actually have a background color feature but what we can do is change the background color of the individual cells so well start by selecting all of the cells on the worksheet you can either do that by pressing ctrl a or by clicking in the space between the a and the one column and row headers in the upper left corner of the spreadsheet once youve selected all the cells you can go up to the Paint Bucket click the drop-down and pick a fill color so now Ive changed all of those cell colors but this will not carry on to a new worksheet if I come down here at the bottom and click the plus sign to insert a new sheet those cells will be transparent or appear white just like sheet 1 did originally and if I go back to sheet 1 it still has the background color my name is Bree Clark Im a software expert and I just showed you how to change the backgroun

Hi @Alma Chavez (Customer)​ , first select the Edit button on the view youd like to change. Then when the new screen loads, select the Format menu at the top of the screen Worksheet. You can change the background color under the Style header of the pane that pops up.
Currently you can set Office Theme to Black which acts as a dark mode.
To change the color of a sheet tab, right-click the tab, point to Tab Color and pick a color that you want. Tip: Click away from the formatted tab to see the new tab color. If you want to remove the color, right-click the tab, point to Tab Color, and pick No Color.

Select the cell or range of cells you want to format. Click Home Format Cells dialog launcher, or press Ctrl+Shift+F. On the Fill tab, under Background Color, pick the color you want.
Heres how to do it: Open your Excel spreadsheet and select the cells you want to have a background image. Click the Insert tab on the ribbon and then click Picture. In the Insert Picture dialog box, navigate to where your image is saved and select it. Click Insert.
On the Page Layout tab in Excel or the Design tab in Word, click Colors, and then click Customize Colors. Click the button next to the theme color you want to change (for example, Accent 1 or Hyperlink), and then pick a color under Theme Colors.
