Headers and footers can be used to display information in the top and bottom margins of your document. They can include details like the authors name, page numbers, the date, and more. To create your own header or footer from scratch, double-click the margin at the top or bottom of your document. This will unlock the header or footer area, so you can add whatever information you want. You can also use the tools on the Design tab, which will appear on the right side of the Ribbon. When youre done, you can close the header or footer using the button here, or by pressing Esc on your keyboard. If you dont have a lot of experience with headers and footers, you might want to start with a preset instead. Preset headers and footers give you several different designs to choose from, so theyre a great choice for any document. Solution. Header: It is a section of the document that appears in the top margin, Which displays the title or chapter name, author name of a document.
On the View menu, click the Insert tab and click Header. Look toward the bottom of the list that appears and click Edit header. Click the box that says Different first page.
To remove a header from the second page, but keep it on the first page, make sure you enable Different First Page from Insert Header. Delete any text thats in the header area for the second page.
Insert a header or footer Go to Insert Header or Footer. Choose the header style you want to use. Add or change text for the header or footer. To eliminate a header--like deleting it on the title page--select it and then check the Different First Page box. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
For instance, Google Drive does not enable you to insert a unique header on the first page only of a multi-page document. Instead, Google Drive automatically inserts your first page header on every other document page as well. Fortunately, you can work around this limitation by splitting your document in two.
