weamp;#39;re going to take a look at how to create a zip file on Windows 10 and then send that file via email zip files let you put multiple files into one folder zip the folder and then send that folder as just a single attachment which is more convenient for you and for the receiver so I have this folder called reports and inside of it I have multiple documents I can see down here I have 11 items and I need to send this to someone by email so instead of uploading 11 different documents Iamp;#39;m just going to right click on the folder go down to send to and select compressed zipped folder and sometimes you have to look on your desktop for where it went mine popped over here it gives me an option it highlights the name if I want to change the name but I donamp;#39;t so Iamp;#39;m just going to click off of that now just so itamp;#39;s easier for us to see Iamp;#39;m going to drag it out here just so you can see and compare my original folder looks like a slightly open folder wi

Microsoft Windows provides a utility that allows you to zip multiple files into a single compressed file format. This is especially helpful if you are emailing files as attachments or if you need to conserve space (zipping files can reduce file size by up to 50%).
When you open a ZIP-file with the archive manager, it tells you the size of the contained files. If you want to know how much all or some contained files are, just mark them (to mark all files: CTRL+A) and take a look at the bar on the bottom.
How can I reduce the size of a Zip file? Download NXPowerLite Zip Compressor for Windows or macOS and . Add the file or files you wish to compress. Click the optimize button to start compression.
Some kinds of files are already highly compressed, so zipping them will not make them docHubly smaller. This includes image files (e.g. GIF, JPG, PNG), video files (e.g. MPG, AVI) and music files (e.g. MP3). Certain types of encrypted files also do not compress well.
Zipped (compressed) files take up less storage space and can be transferred to other computers more quickly than uncompressed files. In Windows, you work with zipped files and folders in the same way that you work with uncompressed files and folders.
Again, if you create Zip files and see files that cannot be docHubly compressed, it is probably because they already contain compressed data or they are encrypted. If you would like to share a file or some files that do not compress well, you might: Email photos by zipping and resizing them.
When a file or a group of files is compressed, the resulting archive often takes up 50% to 90% less disk space than the original file(s). Common types of file compression include Zip, Gzip, RAR, StuffIt, and 7z compression. Each one of these compression methods uses a unique algorithm to compress the data.
Zip files use a type of compression called lossless compressionmeaning they dont lose any information during compression or decompression. This is important for image files, mostly, and audio files that need to maintain quality after being downloaded.
