A third-party reference letter is a letter composed by an important adult figure in a PNMs life, such as a coach, mentor, counselor, teacher, religious leader, boss, etc. This reference writer could be affiliated with a Greek Letter organization but does not have to be. They should be someone that knows the PNM well.
A successful letter should avoid: General language or overly broad descriptors of the students performance in the classroom; Focusing on a students punctuality or ability to complete the readings. Too much time and attention detailing the relationship with the student or the content of the course.
A typical sorority recommendation letter should consist of 4-5 paragraphs, including an introduction, 2-3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
A sorority recommendation letter , or a rec, is actually a form an alumna submits to the chapter where you are rushing. It is essentially an endorsement for sisterhood. The alumna is putting her name on the line to recommend you to her sorority! NOTE: PNMs (potential new members) never send recs on their own behalf.

Luckily, the sorority woman who writes you a letter does not have to be an alumna of the campus chapter youre interested in joining she just needs to be a member of the organization.
Try asking your parents friends, people in your community, teachers, etc. Second, contact alumnae chapters. Sororities have alumnae chapters just like collegiate chapters. These alumnae are often very willing to submit a letter of recommendation for potential members.
What is a legacy? Being a legacy means your mom, sister, or grandmother pledged a sorority when they were in college. In addition, most sororities give legacy status to women with stepmothers, but aunts and cousins do not count. They would, however, make great rec letter writers!
