RAW editing is non-destructive. This means you dont change anything in the RAW file and all the adjustments are saved in the RAW editing software rather than the file itself. This way, you can always go back to the start or make different edits to the same image. If you have a RAW photo to edit that happens to be a portrait, you can focus on enhancing skin tones, adjusting exposure, fine-tuning color balance and improving overall clarity and sharpness. You may also consider applying selective adjustments to specific areas, such as softening blemishes or brightening the eyes.
Open the photo you want to edit and select Masking Select Subject. Camera Raw runs an analysis and automatically selects the subject for you. To refine the mask, click Add or Subtract. Use the editing sliders on the right to make the desired local adjustments.
