Start page numbering later in your document Go to Insert Header or Footer Edit Header or Edit Footer. Select Different First Page. In the header or footer area, you should see a label on the first page that says First Page Header. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
Try it! Select Insert Page Number. Select where you want the page number to appear. Select the style you like and Word automatically numbers each page for you.

Word allows you to restart page numbering on any page of your document. You can do this by inserting a section break and selecting the number you want to restart the numbering with.
Go into the header or footer (location of the page numbers) to edit. If it says link to previous, disable that. Place your cursor where you want the page number and press Alt+Shift+P or use the Insert Page Number (current location) command.
Re: Page Numbers dont show up on every page You need to enable the Header (and/or Footer) on each master style, then /Insert /Field /Page Numbers on one example on each page style. If you are only using one Page Style, you need to enable the same content left and right checkbox for that style.
If you turn off page numbering for the first page of a Word document and then add a new section to page 2, the page number on page 2 disappears!
