after three years living in my home i finally cleaned out the basement and there i found some calligraphic materials from design school there are a lot of typefaces that imitate that calligraphic style like from the mantu here based on this very basic teaching style and this made me think what makes a typeface that imitates handwriting feel different basically a lot depends on the writing tools this feels very common like from a speedball pen like nicer handwriting not very fancy fundamental feel skillful but not over the top something that everybody could learn if they really wanted to and on the other hand we have this pointed nip fancy script typeface which is so flourishing and over the top so when you look for a typeface that imitates handwriting always think about the writing tool and what feelings they convey hope you liked it and see you on the next bond friday you
