Find and Replace helps you to find words or formats in a document and can let you replace all instances of a word or format. This is particularly handy in long documents. To use Find and Replace, use the shortcut Ctrl+H or navigate to Editing in the Home tab of the ribbon, then choose Replace.
To replace the currently selected occurrence of the text, choose Replace. To replace all occurrences of the text, choose Replace All.
There are 2 options for replacing text: To replace a specific instance of the found text, select a row in the Matches section, and select the Replace button. To replace all instances of the found text, select the Replace All button.
When using Find and Replace, you want to ensure that your Replace With text uses upper and lower case letters exactly as intended. How can you ensure this? Check the Match case checkbox under Search options.
Simply click on the Find icon in the status bar or hit CMD+SHIFT+f on Mac or CTRL + SHIFT + f on Windows and Linux devices to perform bulk replace operations on collections, environment and global variables, and requests and examples in open tabs.
Go to Home Replace. Enter the word or phrase you want to replace in Find what. Enter your new text in Replace with. Choose Replace All to change all occurrences of the word or phrase.
Try it! Select Replace or press Ctrl + H. In the Find what box, type the text you want to search for. Select Find Next to see where the text appears in your file. In the Replace with box, type the text you want. Select Replace to change the text or select Replace All to change all instances of this text in your file.
Find and Replace is a function in Word that allows you to search for target text (whether it be a particular word, type of formatting or string of wildcard characters) and replace it with something else.
The replace() method searches a string for a value or a regular expression. The replace() method returns a new string with the value(s) replaced. The replace() method does not change the original string.
