A packing slip is a document that includes the complete list of items included in a package. Packing slips include SKU numbers, weights, dimensions, and the number of units that are used by shipping departments to determine what inventory needs to be sent out to accurately complete an order.
Is a packing slip necessary? A packing slip isnt a legal requirement, much like a receipt or a bill of lading, but its still critical to your inventory management. A packing slip can help you or your team verify that you pick the correct items before theyre packed and shipped.
Usually, a bill of lading is created and handled by the shipment carrier. A bill of lading is signed for verification at two pointsonce by the carrier on package pickup and a second time by the buyer on receiving the package.
Go to Account Settings. Select Templates then choose Packing Slips from the left-hand sidebar. Choose whether you will edit an existing template, copy an existing template, or create a New Packing Slip Template (this is a blank template with no pre-existing editable code).
Packing slips are a record of a transaction for buyers, meant to be included along with an order for a shipment. Order receipts are intended to serve as physical records of transactions for sellers. Neither packing slips nor order receipts are considered invoices for buyers.
Go to Settings Printing Printing Setup , then click Document Options. Check the option IncludeScan to View Barcode on Packing Slips.
Go to Account Settings. Select Templates then choose Packing Slips from the left-hand sidebar. Find the packing slip you wish to add a barcode to and click Edit. A window will then display with an HTML editor.
A packing slip is a document used to itemize the products in a package. It is placed on the inside of the package for customer reference. Alternatively, a shipping label is placed on the outside of the package and used by the carrier and shipment company to ensure the product is delivered to the destination.
