Both parties must appear together in person and be 18 years of age and older. Parties must present valid government-issued photo identification as proof of name and date of birth. Examples of acceptable forms of Identification include, Drivers license or State Identification, Passport, Military I.D., Consulate Card.
You can request a copy of a marriage record online, by mail, or in person. If you submit your request online, you must still complete the application by mail or in person. The fee for a domestic marriage record (short certificate) is $15 and $10 for each additional copy.
Finally, you do not need an ordained minister or licensed county clerk to administer the license. All you need is a notary public with special authorization to issue, sign, and file confidential marriage licenses. They can even perform the ceremony in your living room.
As per Section 2.001 of the Texas Family Code, a marriage license may be obtained from any county clerks office. Many Texas counties now offer an online application process.
How To Change Your Name in New York After Getting Married Decide what you want your name to be. Enter a new surname on your marriage certificate. Get married. Sign up for a name change service. Get a new social security card. Take a new passport photo. Get a certified copy of your marriage license.
To correct/amend the affidavit, license, and certificate of marriage record by mail, please complete and sign the Affidavit for Correction of Marriage form (DOH-1827). If you are unable to download the application, please call (855)-322-1022.
ALL SECTIONS on the marriage license must be completed in permanent black ink, ballpoint pen preferred.
Effective 1/01/15 - The couple may be married in any county in California. No witnesses are required to be at the ceremony, AND no witnesses sign on the marriage license. The marriage license is a confidential record and is registered at the County Clerks Office in the county where it was purchased.
