The local currency (LCY) is defined in the General Ledger Setup page as described in the article Understanding the General Ledger and the Chart of Accounts. Once the local currency (LCY) has been defined, it will be represented as a blank currency, so when the Currency field is blank, it means that the currency is LCY.
Please simply select the proper currency in the selection window during a transaction, such as Purchase invoices. Then, simply press the triple-dot button to the right of the Currency Code field.
Base currency - The currency of the Dynamics 365 instance. This currency is set up when a Dynamics 365 instance is provisioned. It cant be changed.
The default currency can be set on the General FastTab, in the LCY Code field. The currency of a customer can be set on the customer card, on the Invoicing FastTab. When currencies and their exchange rates are configured in Dynamics 365 Business Central, log in to Sana Admin and click: Tools Schedules tasks.
