Amber. Blue. Pink? In this Micro Lesson (which you know is micro because Im scaled down considerably inside this video), well talk about all three of these, including what they mean, and how to clear them. So for all my CSS properties in the Style Panel, I can basically control everything. And when Im just getting started, I can see plain labels, but I can also see some of them are amber without me doing anything. Amber means its inheriting a value here. And I can just click the label and see where its coming from. But the moment I change it? Boom. Its blue. Blue means Ive made a change to this style property on this breakpoint. So if I go to Tablet, I can see the same property is now amber. (And we know why! Its because its now inheriting that style from the change I just made on desktop.) And if I change the value again here on tablet? Now its blue here, too. Remove it by going in and resetting? Now its back to amber (and we can see its inheri

To remove styles using the Styles task pane, select the text from which you want to remove the style. Click the Styles launcher button in the Styles button group of the Home tab to launch the Styles pane. Then choose the Clear All choice from the list of styles shown in the Styles pane.
Ctrl-click on the text in your TOC that you want to remove to go to that text in the document. Change the style of that text from one that is used for TOC reference. (i.e. you do not want a Heading style.) You can have the formatting look the same if you want, but the style must be different.
Accessing the Style Separator It has a built-in keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Alt+Enter, but since youre not going to use the Style Separator very often and that shortcut is an easy one to forget, I recommend you add it to your Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).
On the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the style that you want to remove from the gallery. Click Remove from Style gallery on the shortcut menu. Note: Removing a style from the gallery does not remove the style from the entries that appear in the Styles task pane.
Deleting Styles Choose Styles and Formatting from the Format menu. In the list of styles shown in the pane, hover the mouse pointer over the style you want to delete. Click on the down-arrow that appeared in step 2. Choose Delete from the list of actions. To delete other styles, repeat steps 2 through 4.
To get rid of these styles temporarily: On the Table of Contents tab (see the screen shot above), click Options. Scroll down the list of styles until you see the styles you dont want. Put your cursor into the TOC level field for one of the styles and delete the number.
