Today, I want to show you a cool trick in Microsoft Word on cleaning up your text that you bring from external sources and its broken down into weird lines and paragraphs, and it doesnt keep sentences together. So this is typically happening when you bring texts in from for example, audio transcripts or YouTube or video transcripts. Let me show you an example here. This text is in Notepad and it is a transcript of a video. And, you know, when you save that as a text from like a YouTube or some other transcription tool, it could be like this with line breaks where they shouldnt be line breaks because thats when the timestamp tells the video that its a new phrase, so then the transcription software breaks it down like this into different paragraphs. But actually if you look at this, this is actually a single sentence. So it should be really up here instead of down there like that. So when you want to take this text, maybe to create

How to Turn Off the Paragraph Symbol in Word Click the File button at the top-left of the window. Click Options at the bottom of the File pane. Click the Display button on the top-left side of the Word Options window. Click the box next to Paragraph marks to remove the check from the box.
Find the Paragraph section. Click the little more arrow in the lower right corner of the box. Check off the Dont add space between paragraphs of the same style option. This removes the extra spacing.

Paragraph marks are one of the formatting symbols that can appear automatically when using Microsoft Word. When editing or formatting your document, the marks can be useful indicators of hidden characters. Usually, when you type, you cant see certain characters, like tab marks, spaces and paragraph markers.
Move the mouse cursor to the beginning of the line of text you want to delete. Press and hold the left mouse button, then drag the mouse to the right until the entire line of text is highlighted. Press Backspace or Delete to delete the line of text.
Click Design, then Paragraph Spacing. Pick which spacing you want (the default is Open), and notice your whole document will preview as you mouse over the different settings. If you dont like those options, click Custom Paragraph Spacing and change the numbers under Paragraph Spacing.
Move the mouse cursor to the beginning of the line of text you want to delete. Press and hold the left mouse button, then drag the mouse to the right until the entire line of text is highlighted. Press Backspace or Delete to delete the line of text.
To select a paragraph, place your cursor at the start of the paragraph, and press Ctrl + Shift + down arrow.
You dont have to go through all this to select and delete a paragraph or two. When this is the case, position the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph and press Ctrl+Shift+Down. Doing so will select everything to and including the paragraph mark. Continue to add lines to the selection by clicking Down.
