[Music] my name is Jim McKeon and today were going to talk about documents that are filed under seal now this may be something youve heard of in media TV show or a movie but what does that mean well lets talk about things that you cannot access the public cannot access in illegal cases first off almost all legal cases are public record if you want to go down to the courthouse and look through everybodys divorce filings you are allowed to do that you are entitled to do that its a public record theres nothing stopping you from doing that if you want to go through criminal records youre allowed to do that newspaper reporters do that in order to find juicy things to write articles about however there are certain things that just arent open to the public first off juvenile records anything is under a juvenile case its not necessarily under seal but its confidential you cant open it similarly with Chris on criminal cases involving domestic violence usually the victims information

Even if the company seal is not a legal requirement it still presents authenticity. A fax, email, or photocopy of the seal can act in place of the original seal.
A corporate seal is no longer required by LLCs or Corporations and any state in the United States. Although both a corporate seal and official stock certificates were once required for corporations, like spurs on a boot, these remnants of the past are no longer functional or relevant.
Today, corporate seals are no longer required by state corporation laws. But they still are very useful, and many corporations still place their corporate seals on their important internal and external documents. And, in fact, many LLCs also use company seals on their important documents.
Its not legally required, but many companies have chosen to adopt and use a company seal. Harvard Business Services, Inc. offers a free digital seal to all new Delaware corporations and LLCs we form on behalf of our clients.
In other respects, the common seal is just the businesss legal signatory, and every corporation must only have a single common seal stamp at the start of business. The company must use it in ance with the Articles of Incorporation and the Corporations Act of 2013, respectively.
Please note that New York State law does not require a corporation to have a seal. Your telephone books yellow pages or a yellow pages information operator (your area code + 555-1212) may be helpful in locating a legal stationery store.
Any official or legal document that derives from a corporation requires a corporate seal. Traditionally, documents were usually validated through a seal because illiteracy was historically more common. Today, however, corporate seals can be used to officiate bank accounts or deeds.
Destroy your old seal If you have an ink stamp, the easiest way to destroy it is to use a knife or other sharp object to cut and damage the rubber seal impression so that the stamp no longer makes a usable impression. Embossers are more difficult to destroy because of their metal components.
