so uh yeah ive just kicked off a recording and ill just talk about the xps 12 and just mentioning i wasnt a great big fan of this frame design the original one i had was was pretty good it was nice and smooth but i worried that if it took a knock it would uh it would be a problem now whats happened on this loner device ive got here is that i actually cant get the screen back out like i reckon i could if i really pushed it but its stuck its completely stuck in tablet mode i mean come on i must be able to get a knife in there or something just what the hell is going on there there okay okay right by lifting up the frame ive managed to pop it into laptop mode again but lets see if i can okay flip it back again and im just worried i think thats a little bit broken on the top there now yes i can see where its taken a few scrapes so yeah takes a hell of an effort to get that out now so thats something to to be very careful of especially if youre going to buy a secondhand xps

Procedure Place the computer in an upright position. Remove the screw (#6-32xL7-12) that secures the right-side cover release latch to the chassis. Pull the right-side cover release latch. Lift the right-side cover and then slide it towards the top of the computer. Remove the right-side cover from the chassis. Figure 1.
Steps Place the computer in an upright position. Gently pry and release the front-cover tabs from the top-left, working down sequentially to the bottom-left tab. Swing the front cover outwards, away from the chassis, and remove the cover.
Starting from the bottom-left corner, use a plastic scribe to pry the base cover in the direction of the arrows to release the base cover from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Grasp the left side and the right side of the base cover and remove the base cover from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
