Can you exchange contracts without a completion date? Exchange of contracts cant take place unless the buyer and seller have agreed to a completion date. Thats because the completion date is drawn into the final contracts, making the sale, and date, legally binding for both the seller and the buyer.
1 to 2 weeks between exchange and completion This is the ideal time between exchange and completion, giving both seller and buyer time to organise themselves once they know they are legally bound to complete after exchanging contracts.
