The tutorial demonstrates how to reduce the file size of a 26 megabyte file by compressing images. This can be done by selecting a picture, clicking compress pictures, and choosing the desired compression option. Cropping areas of pictures and compressing selected or all pictures are also options. Alternatively, the file can be compressed by clicking file compress pictures, which automatically compresses all pictures in the file. After making the changes, the file size will decrease, even though it still shows 26 megabytes until saved.

Here are the steps to compress your PowerPoint on a Mac: In PowerPoint, click File. From the dropdown menu, click Compress Pictures. A Compression Table will display your compression options. Choose whether or not youd like to delete portions of the photos that have been cropped out.
Change the slide size On the Design tab, in the Customize group at the far right end, click Slide Size. Click Custom Slide Size. In the Slides sized for list, click the size you want to use, or use the Width and Height boxes to select custom sizes. Click OK.
Compress PowerPoint files as a ZIP file. Click File in the upper-left corner. Choose the Open option. Right-click the project you wish to compress. Additional options will appear. Choose Send to and more options will appear. Find the option named Compressed (zipped) folder. Choose this option to compress the file.
Set the slide size and orientation On the File menu, click Page Setup. Under Size, select an option from the Slide sized for list. If you select Custom, enter sizes in the Width and Height boxes. Under Orientation, choose an orientation for both your slides and any notes or handouts you plan to print.

This can happen if you have your display settings in PowerPoint set up to Optimize for best appearance. To fix this in the future, you can follow these steps: In PowerPoint, go to File Options General User Interface options. Make sure Optimize for compatibility is ticked.
Open your PowerPoint presentation on your Mac. Go to the File menu and select Compress Media. Choose the quality you want for the video.
