Steps (website) Sign in to FamilySearch, and click Family Tree. Find the person that you want to enhance. Click the persons name. Click the Details tab. Beside the information you want to change, click the Edit icon . Review the sources and reason statement.
Changing the default save location Open the Tools Menu and select Options from that list. In the Options menu on the General tab, there will be an option to change the default save location. You can click the Browse button to select the folder that you want to use as the save folder for your files.
In the Family Tree mobile app, you can detach a source. Navigate to the person page. Tap Sources. Tap the source that you want to detach. On the upper right, tap the 3 dots. Tap Detach. Enter a reason to detach. To confirm, click Detach.
Removing a fact or event From the profile page of someone in your tree, click the Facts tab. In the Facts column, hover over a fact and click the Edit button that appears. In the bottom-right corner of the opened window, click Delete. To confirm, click Delete.
How to Compact and Back Up a Tree Select Backup from the File menu. In the Backup the Tree window that appears, check boxes to include Media files, Historical events, and if your tree is linked with one on Ancestry.com, make sure that the the checkbox Allow restored file to resume syncing is selected. Click Backup.
Steps (mobile app) In the Family Tree mobile app, navigate to the Person page that you want to edit. Tap the Details tab. Under Vitals, tap the information you want to delete. Review the current information and any reason statements. Tap Delete. Explain why you made a change. Tap Delete.
Select the bullet Let Family Tree Maker search for this file in the File Not Found window and click OK. If Family Tree Maker can find this file, it will automatically re-link the media item. If Family Tree Maker cannot find the file, you will receive a warning like this one.
Deleting a fact Go to the Person tab on the People workspace for the appropriate individual. Click the Facts button. Right-click on the fact that you want to delete and select Delete Fact from the drop-down list.
