Each item is scored on a 5-point Likert scale regarding how often the athlete feels a certain way. Scores are calculated separately for each of the three dimensions, with higher scores indicating greater levels of burnout.
The ABQ is the most popular measure of sport burnout, and previous work supports its reliability and construct validity. 9,10 The ABQ measures three dimensions of burnout (emotional/physical exhaustion, reduced sense of accomplishment, and sport devaluation) with five items each via a five-point Likert scale.
The following scoring categories are used: 1 never, 2 rarely, 3 sometimes, 4 often, and 5 always. This means that the value of the average scale scores varies from 1 to 5. By adding the scores on all BAT items and dividing the sum by 23, the total score is obtained, which also ranges between 1 and 5.
Scoring the Maslach Burnout Inventory All MBI items are scored using a 7 level frequency ratings from never to daily. The MBI has three component scales: emotional exhaustion (9 items), depersonalization (5 items) and personal achievement (8 items). Each scale measures its own unique dimension of burnout.
Bresos academic burnout questionnaire The questionnaire measures three aspects of AB (i.e., exhaustion, cynicism, and inefficacy). The 15-item questionnaire is scored based on 5-point Likert scale ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree.
Your questionnaire should include a combination of question types, like open-ended, long-form, or short-ended questions. Open-ended questions give users a chance to share their own answers. But closed-ended questions are more efficient and easy to quantify, with specific answer choices.
