You dont change the DPI settings when taking the picture, you change that when exporting the photo from the software that you have exported to. Also the medium that you are sending it can alter the DPI, or the alter the file.
Open and Use the App: Launch the installed EXIF Viewer app. Select or import the image/desired photo you want to analyze. Look for an option to view the images metadata, which should include information about its dimensions (height and width) and possibly the DPI.
Select a scanner, uncheck Configure scanner using scanners interface then click on the drop-down menu next to Resolution to change the DPI setting there.
