To insert a Unicode character, type the character code, press ALT, and then press X. For example, to type a dollar symbol ($), type 0024, press ALT, and then press X. For more Unicode character codes, see Unicode character code charts by script.
Unicode is a character encoding system that allows you to send characters used in different languages. If you use Unicode characters, your texts messages will be restricted to just 70 characters, not the standard 160. Mostly people use Unicode by mistake, by copying messages from Word or Sheets.
Follow these steps to get text from an image: Head to imagetotext.io. Upload or copy/paste your image into the input box. Press the submit button. Copy the extracted text, or download it as a text file.
Use ASCII or Unicode character codes to insert a symbol Go to Insert Symbol More Symbols. Scroll up or down the list to find the symbol you want. You might have to change the font or the subset to locate it.
To paste the text as unformatted Unicode text, select the arrow under Paste As and select Unformatted Unicode Text from the Home tab, or the Ctrl+Shift+V (unformatted) keyboard shortcut.
To insert an ASCII character, press and hold down ALT while typing the character code. For example, to insert the degree () symbol, press and hold down ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad. You must use the numeric keypad to type the numbers, and not the keyboard.
Inserting Unicode Characters Type the character code where you want to insert the Unicode symbol. Press ALT+X to convert the code to the symbol. If youre placing your Unicode character immediately after another character, select just the code before pressing ALT+X.
Unicode characters can then be entered by holding down Alt , and typing + on the numeric keypad, followed by the hexadecimal code, and then releasing Alt .
