want to add a link to a file or insert an image into your markdown try dragging and dropping from the vs code explorer in this markdown file for example lets say that i want to insert one of these images over here so ill find the image that i want in the vs code explorer so lets grab this gif for example and now im going to start clicking and dragging here so ill click and drag take it over the current editor and then im going to hold down shift to actually drop this image into the current editor so hold down shift here i get a little cursor with the dot dot here that is indicating where im actually going to drop the file so lets go to the blank line here ill drop that and now you can see that its inserted the markdown syntax for an image link you can also see that the path for the image is relative to the current markdown file here if i then open up the markdown preview so ill open up the preview here we can see that the image is being rendered as wed expect now this also
