hi and welcome students in this Microsoft Excel 2016 tutorial Im going to show you how to insert symbols and special characters onto your workbooks so lets get started so youll see here that I have a registered mark after the company name and on the company name which is quality group on quality group the e on this one is actually missing the cute mark so to add in marks for Greek and Latin words and languages youre going to need to know how to do that and so thats going to be using the symbol character as our keyboards do not have those symbols built into them and so lets go ahead and double click within this cell and youll see that I need to put this acute mark over the e the way that we do that is Im going to press the backspace button and Im going to go to the insert tab on the insert tab youll see that all of the buttons are currently inactive except on the far right side we have the symbols group and the symbol button and if I click on symbol its going to add symbols t

Pressing the Alt key while typing a code on the number pad on Windows results in a special character. Press the Opt key on Mac to find special characters like the Alt key on Windows.
Inserting Unicode Characters Type the character code where you want to insert the Unicode symbol. Press ALT+X to convert the code to the symbol. If youre placing your Unicode character immediately after another character, select just the code before pressing ALT+X.
Click or tap where you want to insert the special character. Go to Insert Symbol More Symbols. Go to Special Characters. Double-click the character that you want to insert.
HOW TO USE THE SYMBOLS IN PROFILE: 1: Highlight the symbol youd like to use with your mouse and copy it. 2: Open the section on your LinkedIn Profile that you want to add the symbol to and navigate to the place youd like the symbol to appear. 3: Click paste and youre done.
In the menu bar, select Insert Special characters and the Special characters pop-up will appear. Find the symbol or accented letter to insert. You can scroll to find it or search for it using the search box. Select the desired character to insert it.
