From the Home window of Drake, go to Tools File Maintenance Password Protect Files. In the Password Protect Client Data Files dialog box, enter the SSN or EIN of the client file you wish to password-protect. Enter an eight-character password in the Enter Password field.
Click the Select a file button above or drag and drop a PDF into the drop zone. Enter a password, then retype it to confirm the password. Click Set password. Sign in to download or share your protected PDF.
Right-click the file(s) and select Send to Mail Recipient. In Email Files - SmartVault, select the Password protect and encrypt all PDF documents sent in this email checkbox and click Send.
Protect a document with a password Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Type a password, then type it again to confirm it. Save the file to make sure the password takes effect.
Password Protect Files Go to Tools File Maintenance Password Protect Files. In Enter the primary taxpayer SSN/EIN, type the taxpayer ID of the file requiring a password. Type the desired password in Enter password. Repeat the password in Confirm password. Click Continue.
If youre using Excel, choose File Passwords and then add your passwords to open and modify your file. You can also do that when saving the file in Excel format. If you are using Numbers on a Mac, choose File Set Password, then add a password of your choice.
Add a password to Microsoft Office Click the File menu, select the Info tab, and then select the Protect Document button. Click Encrypt with Password. Enter your password then click OK. Enter the password again to confirm it and click OK.
The e-File password is assigned by Drake Software. This password is entered in your Drake Tax program to authenticate you on our server for electronic filing, updates, and more. To access your e-File password, login to DrakeSoftware.com, select My Account My Serial Numbers.
